Online Consultations

Online consultations can be helpful for: • discussing your symptoms and concerns • understanding possible contributing factors • guidance around lifestyle and daily habits • structured exercise support and progression

Online consultations do not replace an in-person assessment. This consultation does not involve teaching self-assessment techniques or replacing a physical examination. A full pelvic floor assessment often requires physical and, where appropriate, internal examination to properly understand what is happening. ​ Without this, assessment is more limited. ​

Online consultations can be a helpful starting point if your symptoms can be discussed and managed without a physical examination. This may be appropriate if you are experiencing: • mild to moderate bladder urgency or frequency • light bladder leakage (e.g. with exercise, coughing or sneezing) • symptoms that you would like to understand before deciding on further care Online support can also be useful if you are: • unsure whether you need an in-person assessment • looking for guidance and reassurance If, during your consultation, it becomes clear that an in-person assessment would be more appropriate, this will be discussed with you. ​ The aim is always to ensure you receive the right level of care for your symptoms. ​

An in-person assessment is usually recommended if: • you have significant or worsening prolapse symptoms • you are unsure whether your pelvic floor muscles are able to contract or relax • your symptoms are not improving or are becoming more complex • a detailed pelvic floor examination is needed to guide treatment If this is the case, I will always explain this clearly so you can make an informed decision.

4 sessions · £430 ​ For women where symptoms can be managed safely without in-person assessment, a short course of follow-up sessions may be recommended. These sessions focus on: • progressing exercises appropriately • reviewing your symptoms over time • building strength, control and confidence Rehabilitation is structured and progressive, with the aim of helping you move forward independently.
