Client Experiences
I initially booked an appointment as I knew I needed to improve my pelvic floor, but found the information online conflicting and I didn't want to spend weeks following a plan which wasn't specifically going to help me. My pelvic floor was weak when ran, both short and long distances. It was something I found more challenging whist training for events.
I'm very aware that improving my pelvic floor is a case of 'slow and steady wins the race', that said what an improvement it has been over the past few weeks. The joy I have felt when I have finished a 10k run and realised I haven't once thought about my pelvic floor.
I have learnt that with right guidance and work I can trust my pelvic floor to work and do its job, rather than constantly thinking about it.

I visited the Pelvic Floor Clinic three years after my urinary symptoms first began, and I’m so glad I finally did. Emma was absolutely wonderful. She took the time to really understand what I was experiencing, explained everything in simple, reassuring terms, and created a personalised plan that I actually enjoyed following (so refreshing after the repetitive NHS Kegels!) There was never any awkwardness, she’s a true professional who clearly cares about her patients.
After a forceps delivery in 2022, I was left with several bladder and pelvic floor issues. Despite many NHS visits, I was repeatedly sent away with Kegels, which actually seemed to make things worse. Following the birth of my last baby in 2025, I decided it was finally time to focus on healing properly.
I met Emma through postnatal yoga, and honestly, the thought of seeing her for a pelvic floor assessment and then still attending her classes felt a bit daunting. I worried I’d be too embarrassed to go back to yoga afterwards. But I couldn’t have been more wrong. I took the plunge - and not only did she make me feel completely at ease, I now go to even more of her classes because they’re genuinely that good! She is incredibly professional and creates such a safe, comfortable environment. I’ve never felt a hint of awkwardness - just a shared goal of improving my pelvic floor and resolving my symptoms (including a prolapse I had no idea I had, despite numerous NHS appointments).
After about three months of following her guidance, my symptoms improved dramatically. I only wish I’d booked in with her sooner.

[I had] pain & discomfort during intercourse over several years, a weakening pelvic floor and a recent diagnosis from a doctor of a slight prolapse. I started reading books and articles on Pelvic floor issues but was not sure if I was doing the pelvic floor exercises correctly and also did not want to over or under exercise. I also felt I needed some reassurance.

[I've seen] improvement of the tone of pelvic floor muscles and now no discomfort during intercourse.
The exercises and advice from Emma have really helped me to reverse pelvic floor weakness and allay my concerns for the future too. I am confident that I now know how to exercise properly and have knowledge to understand and look after this under discussed area of a woman’s body. (I have also recently been prescribed oestrogen pessaries via the NHS which have also helped with the symptoms of vaginal atrophy).

I would not hesitate to say, seek support and gain as much knowledge and understanding about your condition and body and ways to improve the situation. Please don’t suffer in silence; a lot can be done to help with pelvic floor related issues.
Emma has really helped me. As a nurse specialising in pelvic floor health she is knowledgeable & professional with a kind and understanding approach. She offers a tailored consultation and exercise programme which really gave me reassurance and the help to totally improve important aspects of my health and life.

Being told I have vaginismus was a bit of a shock, but if I was to pinpoint one thing that has been the biggest support with managing it, I would easily say that working with a pelvic floor nurse has to be my number one.
I'm still at a very early stage with it and working through lots of different things to try to ease the symptoms but Emma has been an absolute lifesaver through all of this!
She is so lovely, patient and supportive. Emma was the one who took the time to listen, learn about MRKH, understand my symptoms and guide me to getting the diagnosis.
We've been working together for a little while and her support in helping me to navigate vaginismus has been incredible. Reaching out to her was my first step to managing this and it was the best decision I could've made.
To anyone looking for support with vaginismus symptoms, I 100% recommend Emma and am so grateful for her support

I had a very quick vaginal labour with episiotomy and I noticed over the years something was not right with my pelvic floor. I started thinking I could have a prolapse and decided to book a consultation with Emma to clarify the situation.
I learned how to do the pelvic floor exercises effectively and how to lift heavy objects. Emma also guided me how to strengthen my body to better support my pelvic floor.
I contacted Emma almost 3 years after having my baby and I was worried it could be too late to see any improvements, but I was absolutely wrong and I would recommend Emma to women of all ages.

I had some symptoms after having my first baby that were uncomfortable and concerning, and wanted to get ahead of my recovery.
I've slowly started to feel a bit more 'normal' in terms of how I feel physically, feel more confident with certain movements I was guarding against before, and am more optimistic about the long terms.
Often the right support isn't immediately available without seeking it yourself, especially after having a baby, so I definitely recommend it to take control of recovery!
